Sega was producing great games for the Saturn as developers got the hang of the hardware, particularly RPGS. But at the time, the system was taking a beating in sales and mindshare thanks to the skyrocketing popularity of the PlayStation -- especially in America. As such, Sega didn't think more RPGs were going to magically solve things. Thereforce, Shining Force III was released as just a single game, while in Japan, they went on to release two more "Scenarios" that finished up the story. In a way, it's a miracle we got any part of it at all, but at the same time, we didn't get to know the true end of the series.
